Behind the Name:
My first teaching job was in McCall, Idaho in the late 2000s. I had never heard of it nor Payette Lake. When I was approaching town for my interview, I thought there was no way a lake would be where I was going but when I rounded the corner and saw Payette Lake, I knew I had to be there. Payette Lake is surrounded by beautiful mountains and mile upon mile of trails to hike. I was at the lake all the time. While I wasn't on the lake, I loved being by it. I fell in love with my dog at that lake, the hours she spent swimming in Payette Lake after her ball are some of my favorite memories.
