Behind the Name:
The Mission Mountains reside in my parents' backyard on the Flathead Reservation in Western Montana. I remember driving past them when I was little and thinking they looked like a great wall surrounding a fortress. The Mission Mountain Range is a very dynamic range with jagged peaks and they are part of the only Tribal wilderness area established by an actual tribe.
